6th Sept 2002:

Vote Badfinger to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame

We are signing the petition because we believe that "Badfinger" deserve to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Badfinger helped pave the way for power pop and rock and roll during the early 1970's. They were the first group signed to the Beatles' Apple Label, coming straight from England. Their song repertoire included the hits "Come and Get It", "No Matter What", "Day After Day", and "Baby Blue". Day After Day went #1 in America and was also a certified gold record. Pete Ham and Tom Evans could have been the next Lennon/McCartney except tragically, Pete Ham committed suicide in 1975 and later, Tom Evans in 1983. Ham and Evans penned the song "Without You", which Harry Nilsson took to number one in the 1970's and even more recently, Mariah Carry took it to number one also. Badfinger ended up winning a Grammy for writing the song. How can a great band like this be passed up for induction? I for one am very tired of this and hopefully enough people will sign this petition to put Badfinger in their rightful place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame...

10 August 2002:

Sadly Bill Collins passed away on Tuesday 6th August.  The cause: a heart attack and resulting coma from which he never recovered.

Bill was a huge part of Badfinger folklore.  He discovered the Iveys in Swansea during one of his many travels.  He took the fledgling band to London and groomed them into Badfinger, the band we all love.

Bill and Mike were firm friends through all of the bad times, and "Bill and Anne's" house is always the first place Mike would visit upon his returns to the UK.

Our thoughts go out to his devoted wife Anne who was at his side when he passed.

We will miss him terribly.

Please mail your condolences to the address below:
